ForFarmers combines Dutch production organic feed at Reudink location

Reudink, an entity within the ForFarmers group and active in organic feed, acquired Van Gorp Biologische Voeders B.V. (Van Gorp Bio) in October 2018. As of 1 July next, ForFarmers will transfer the production activities of Van Gorp Bio, which currently take place in Schalkwijk (NL), to the production location of Reudink in Lochem. In addition, Van Gorp Bio will continue to work under the brand name Reudink as of this date.

After the closing of the acquisition in October, the priority has been on integrating, amongst other things, the sales activities of Van Gorp Bio in the Reudink organisation. Combining the forces of the sales teams of both organisations is done with a full focus on further enhancing the service levels to customers. In this context the decision has now also been taken to transfer the production of the Van Gorp Bio feeds to the Reudink mill in Lochem to organise the supply chain of organic feeds more efficiently.

This decision is also in line with the announced efficiency plans of ForFarmers, which include the objective to, wherever possible, combine production locations and enhance the supply chain in general. No decision has as yet been taken on a possible future use for the mill in Schalkwijk.

Ceasing the production in Schalkwijk entails that the production activities at this site, currently involving seven production employees of Van Gorp Bio, will discontinue. ForFarmers is investigating the possibilities to relocate these employees.
