Did you know this about phosphate in pig feed?

4 December 2024

Did you know that ....ForFarmers uses around 12% less phosphate in its feed for finishers in the Netherlands? This results in significant savings in manure disposal costs. Manure disposal costs have risen dramatically in recent years in the Netherlands, highlighting the need to optimise phosphate levels in feed. This is even more important for farmers with limited land, who have to dispose of a large proportion of their manure because they cannot dispose of it on their own land. ForFarmers ensures that there is enough digestible phosphorus in the feed, while keeping the amount of gross phosphorus low.

“So we pay a lot of attention to the amount of phosphorus in our feed”, says Rene Kuipers, fattening pig specialist. “But we also make sure that the animals get enough digestible phosphorus. This is in line with our mission For the Future of Farming and our sustainability ambitions: more efficient use of raw materials and less environmental impact. Together, we are working towards a sustainable and future-proof agricultural sector.”🌱🚜
