Responsible sourcing

Responsible Soy and Palm Oil

We are one of the founder signatories of Responsible Soy Declaration of FEFAC. ForFarmers has committed itself to the objective of 100% responsibly sourced palm oil and soy bean meal by 2025.

In 2019 FEFAC launched the Responsible Soy Declaration, an online platform where European feed manufacturers can voluntarily state their commitment to purchase responsibly produced soy. ForFarmers worked tirelessly to realise this initiative at a European and sector level. It will help transform the soy market.

As a member of the Roundtable on Responsible Soy (RTRS) and the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO), ForFarmers has also helped to develop the FEFAC Soy Sourcing Guidelines (FEFAC, 2015). Together with FEFAC, we use our network in the chain to work according to these guidelines. This allows us to facilitate the mainstream supply of sustainable soy products to Europe.

Sustainable procurement of all raw materials

As a socially responsible enterprise ForFarmers strives - besides soy and palm oil - to purchase all its raw materials in accordance with recognised social, ethical and environmental standards. A structured dialogue with suppliers and the Supplier Code of Conduct from Sedex (Supplier Ethical Data Exchange) should help in this respect. The Sedex supplier code sets out the shared responsibilities of suppliers with regard to the purchasing of raw materials. It includes standards on business ethics aimed at preventing bribery, discrimination, corruption and fraudulent business practices, and employment practices that comply with ILO standards. Relationships with suppliers who do not wish to work in accordance with the Sedex code will be phased out.
