Circularity by increasing circular raw materials by one-third

Co-products play an important role in making our food chain more sustainable. Parts of crops that are released during processing and are not edible for humans are very suitable as feed for animals. They are processed into nutritious feed for cows, pigs and chickens. In this way, animals are fundamental in transforming these co-products into high-quality proteins such as milk, meat and eggs. In other words: Farmers and animal husbandry are essential to ensuring affordable and sustainable food on our plates.

ForFarmers is active in supplying and valorising residual streams and has storage and transhipment sites for this purpose. In the UK we do so under the name CirQlar, in the Netherlands and Germany under the name Van Triest CirQlar. ForFarmers' aim is to increase the share of circular raw materials by one-third, meaning 65% of raw materials used should be circular by 2030.

For us, circular food production is synonymous with turning low-quality ingredients into high-quality food, with as little waste of raw materials and pollution as possible.
