One-third less CO2 emissions for a better living environment

The Paris climate agreement agreed to take measures to help limit global warming to below 2 degrees Celsius and preferably to 1.5 degrees Celsius. This means we must work together to improve our living environment.

ForFarmers aims to reduce CO2 emissions from its own operations by a third by 2030 compared to the base year 2022. This is a step towards its ambition to be net climate neutral by 2050. This will contribute to making the chain more sustainable, in line with the Paris climate agreement.

This will be achieved by reducing emissions in our own operations by reducing our energy consumption and, where possible, using renewable energy (scope 1 and 2).
In addition, ForFarmers focuses on making its raw material procurement more sustainable and reducing on-farm emissions (scope 3).

Scope 1 stands for direct emissions for which you as a company are responsible, i.e. caused by your own production or logistics. Scope 2 stands for indirect emissions from purchased energy. And Scope 3 is both 'upstream' - related to the purchase of raw materials - and 'downstream' - related to emissions on farm.

ForFarmers' emission targets are being validated by the Science Based Target initiative (SBTi) so that they are fully in line with the Paris Climate Agreement. This is thus in line with our ambition to be net climate neutral by 2050. Together with our farmers, partners and other stakeholders, we are currently developing a roadmap to achieve this. But our focus now is on our 2030 targets.
