Social and governance ambitions

ESG goes beyond environmental targets. Social and governance objectives are important as well. After all, a well-run and responsible company cares about its people, customers and the environment.

It therefore goes without saying that we are fully committed to the fundamental principles of corporate responsibility: respect human rights, promote equality, diversity and acceptance, conduct business with integrity and ensure people's safety. This is all deeply embedded in our company and we will continue to report on it in the years to come.

Working together on affordable and sustainable food is our dot on the horizon. The number of mouths to feed continues to rise, and prosperity in emerging markets is increasing, leading to a growing demand for food. We need to meet this responsibly. Therefore we believe in circular food production, in which animals play an essential role.

To realise our ambitions, our employees work on feed solutions for our customers. In doing so, they work closely with farmers and other chain parties on a daily basis.

We are committed to delivering top results every day and take pride in our work. Our success depends on people's behaviour and commitment. Our core values guide us in setting clear ambitions as far as the ‘social and governance’ part of ESG. Per core value we define our ambition how we want to interact with customers, chain partners and other stakeholders.

Passionate: We believe in the power and importance of our people. We therefore make sure they feel valued and respected. We monitor this with regular employee surveys.

Responsible: The health and safety of our employees, visitors and suppliers is our highest priority. We aim for zero serious incidents at all our sites!

Open-minded: We are committed to diverse and inclusive teams, as this is a key factor for long-term success. We support this with clear targets in terms of age and gender.

United: Working together as one team. Both within ForFarmers, but also with our farmers, suppliers and society. We encourage cooperation between departments with programmes. With suppliers, we ensure a meaningful social impact, such as a clear human rights policy for ourselves and our chain.

Delivering: Our core values guide our behaviour and work. We also work in line with our code of conduct and relevant legislation. We encourage people to speak up if something is not right and to invoke our whistleblowing policy.
