Even when these residual flows from the food industry are no longer fit for human consumption, they are still a valuable source of nutrition for animals.
Without their use in animal feed, these residual flows would often be incinerated or fermented. However, by processing them into feed, we retain high-quality raw materials in the food chain. Pigs, chickens and cows convert these residual flows back into high-quality animal proteins. This means we are reducing waste and the amount of land needed to feed our animals, as well as reducing the carbon footprint of pork and chicken meat, for example.
To achieve this, ForFarmers collaborates with specialised partners, including FeedValid. FeedValid is a leading company in the collection of these residual flows from the food industry and their processing into raw materials for livestock farming.

This has enabled us to significantly improve the consistency of the quality of the feed in which we process these residual flows. The basic quality of residual flows is good. This means that we can also achieve the best technical and economic results for livestock farmers using these ingredients.”
At the supplier's premises, the residual flows are carefully checked for packaging, hygiene and quality. Then, analyses are carried out in accordance with the highest standards, such as GMP+. Only then are the products processed into tasty raw materials.
At ForFarmers, these ingredients undergo an extensive nutritional analysis before being used to make pig and chicken feed in our factories.
